Yes, the California Creative Writers Conference has had some last-minute volunteer cancellations, and needs a few Zoom hosts to help out this Saturday, 9:00am to 4:00pm, and Sunday between 10:00am and 2:00pm (Pacific Time).
Why bother helping them out of their tight spot?
Because this is an excellent writers conference in its 12th year, this is only the third time it will be offered online (to make it available to writers all around the world), and if they take you on as a volunteer, you can attend the entire conference for free. Any sessions you miss because you’re a Zoom host in a different track, you can watch later on their YouTube channel. (You’ll need a special attendee link to access the videos—but if you’re a Zoom host, you get an attendee link!)
If you want to
help a respected writers conference to serve authors and screenwriters well this weekend,
earn the respect and gratitude from all the faculty whose sessions you enable, and
get free access to a ton of great sessions including the brilliant keynote addresses on the theme “Writing in the Age of AI,”
…email the conference coordinator John Gwinner (John at Gwinner dot org) and tell him how experienced you are with Zoom, especially in webinar mode!
I hope you choose, and are chosen, to help. I will be teaching a couple of sessions, and I hope to see you at the CCWC this weekend!
