PRESS update: greatness looms on the horizon!

Hey, fellow wordsmiths!

I’ll try to make this a quick update:

  • June 29, the PRESS critique group, SLAKE: if you can read this post, you are invited! Here’s the meeting link. The submission deadline is the preceding Monday, June 23. Email your submission to Kari on Monday or Tuesday, or just join the conversation on Sundayfrom 6:30pm to 9:30pm Pacific Time.

  • July 7 to September 5, The New Author Plunge: I have several different pitches for this, but here’s the one-sentence sumary: the New Author Plunge packs decades of our collective craft and business experience into eight intense weeks that pull you deep into the publishing world faster than you could possibly go on your own. It’s expensive (sticker price is just under $3,000) and strictly limited (only two participants per coach) and past participants rave about it. Early-bird pricing of $990 is available until June 20th. We have two pre-paid for next year, but none for this year yet! If we don’t have at least three participants committed and paid within the next couple of weeks, we will postpone this Plunge until next year.

  • July 21 to July 25, Build Your Editing Business: Another intensive, but this one is just one week long, not eight weeks, and it’s for editors, not authors. Go here to learn more, and pass this along to your favorite editor! (Hopefully that’s a Wordsmith Associate, but if not, that’s okay too)

  • October 22 to October 26, The Fjeldheim Writers Retreat: As intensive as this retreat may be (Troy Lambert and I will make sure you learn—and write!—a great deal), it will also be restful and fun. Join us at the Fjeldheim chalet in South Lake Tahoe to focus on writing craft, fellowship, and anything else you want to bring up in discussion times, or just while soaking in the hot tub watching the sun set over the Lake…

I’ll share more soon about all three of these huge opportunities looming in the future. Until then, here are some helpful thoughts:
