Test, test... is this on?

Hey friends,

I am trying something new with Write Well and Publish Wisely. I have added a subscriber-only section called “PRESS, the writers group that gets work done”, and all of those posts (um, two so far, it just started on Tuesday!) are supposed to be behind a paywall. Should cost $6 per month or $60 per year to see those.

The thing is, PRESS has existed as a writers group since 2019. I have sent one-year free trial subscriptions to all the current paid members of PRESS, so that getting these weekly emails via Substack won’t cost them anything extra. The idea here was that regular PRESS members would receive our weekly tips-and-updates emails for free via Substack (so the emails will look better and will link them to the other things I do here on Substack), while also giving Substack folks a cheap and easy taste of PRESS for just a tenth of the regular monthly price ($6 not $59), and if it’s just what you want in a premium writers’ group, you can join at whatever discount I end up offering Substack subscribers.

However, I’ve just checked the “stats” for those two posts, and they both have zero views and zero opens! My previous and normal Substack post, “how do I get rid of this funny smell?” got 61 views and a 54% open rate, which may sound modest to many of you, but that’s pretty good for this modest little outfit.

Did I do something wrong?

Is THIS post visible to you without a prompt to become a paid subscriber?

Can you also see the two PRESS posts that are supposed to be tucked behind the (modest) paywall?

Please comment here and let me know what you see when you look at the Write Well and Publish Wisely page. Can you see the various Sections, including PRESS? Or is PRESS not visible? Can you read anything for free? (or read everything for free?)
